Mykroy/Mycalex materials can be transfer molded without post-firing analogous with organic plastic injection molding techniques. Consequently, intricate shapes and high quantity parts can be molded with or without metal inserts. The as-molded, custom-made, finished part, manifests nearly no shrinkage at cycle end. Accordingly, a +/- .001 tolerance can easily be achieved. In addition, MM coefficient of thermal expansion matches most common metals; therefore a good mechanical bond is maintained between the metal insert and the MM material up to the maximum use temperature.
